Kordula Lobeck de Fabris ist freischaffende Regisseurin, Theaterpädagogin und Kunstvermittlerin sowie Organisatorin. Sie ist Mitbegründerin und künstlerische Leiterin von Unter Wasser fliegen (gegründet in Wuppertal 1989), einem Verein, dessen Focus auf internationalem kulturellen Austausch liegt. Ihre Arbeit konzentriert sich auf das Neue Theater von Gruppen sowohl in Europa als auch Nord- und Südamerika. Seit 1977 nimmt sie an internationalen Konferenzen, Kongressen und Treffen des „Neuen Theaters“ teil, in Italien, Mexiko, Peru, Norwegen, Großbritannien und Dänemark. Sie hat zum Thema des Neuen Theaters Essays geschrieben und Radiosendungen gemacht und weltweit Kontakte zu frei arbeitenden Künstlern, Künstlergruppen und Netzwerken aufgebaut. Sechs Jahre lang arbeitete sie als Theaterleiterin, Produzentin und Forscherin in Lateinamerika.

Mit Unter Wasser Fliegen organisierte sie sechs internationale Treffen und Festivals sowie eine ständige Internationale Akademie mit Gastperformances, Workshops und fortlaufenden Bildungsprogrammen sowie verschiedenen Produktionen, die durch die europäische Gemeinschaft, den Staat und das Land finanziert wurden. Ein wesentlicher Fokus in Kordulas Arbeit liegt auf professioneller Theaterarbeit im sozio-kulturellen Umfeld (Jugendsozialarbeit, Mädchen und Frauen, Psychiatrie, alte Menschen, Arbeit im Gefängnis). Kordula Lobeck entwickelte diesbezüglich Modellprojekte, die durch die deutsche Bundesregierung unterstützt wurden. In diesen sozialen Bereichen einen internationalen, kulturellen Austausch zu schaffen, immer unter der Voraussetzung einer Zusammenarbeit mit professionellen Künstlern, ist ihr ein besonderes Anliegen. Kordula Lobeck ist seit mehr als 25 Jahren Mitglied des MagdalenaProjektes.

Kordula is a freelance director, theater educator and art educator as well as organiser. She is co-founder and artistic director of Unter-wasser fliegen (founded in Wuppertal 1989), an association whose focus is on international cultural exchange. Her work focuses on the “New Theater” of theater groups both in Europe and North and South America. Since 1977 she has participated in international conferences, congresses and meetings of the “New Theater” in Italy, Mexico, Peru, Norway, UK and Denmark. She has written essays and made radio programmes on the subject of the “New Theater”, and has established contacts with freelance artists, artist groups and networks around the world. For six years she worked as a theater director, producer and researcher in Latin America.

With Unter Wasser Fliegen, Kordula has organised six international meetings and festivals, as well as a permanent International Academy with guest performances, workshops and ongoing educational programs, and various productions financed by the European Community, the state and the country. A major focus in Kordula’s work is on professional theater work in the socio-cultural environment (youth social work, girls and women, psychiatry, elderly people, people in prison and refugees). Kordula has developed model projects funded by the Federal Government. In these social areas, her particular concern is to facilitate an international, cultural exchange, always with the prerequisite of cooperation with professional artists. Kordula has been a member of the Magdalena project for more than 25 years.

Thaís Medeiros ist Schauspielerin, Regisseurin, Dramaturgin, visuelle Künstlerin und Produzentin. Als Absolventin der Teatro Escola Macunaíma hat sie 27 Jahre lang die Schauspielarbeit ergründet und ihre eigene, auf Körperbewusstsein basierende Methodologie entwickelt. Sie betreibt seit 2005 Kung Fu und trägt im Moment einen fortgeschrittenen braunen Gürtel in der Stilrichtung Choy Lay Fut am Shaolin Kung Fu Institute bei Meister Marco Serra.

Thaís` künstlerische Forschung reicht von Experimenten mit visueller Kunst bis zur Dramaturgie. Seit 1991 hat sie viele Stücke und Performances konzipiert, geleitet, gespielt und dramaturgisch gestaltet sowie Workshops geleitet. Zudem hat sie Theateranthropologie bei Eugenio Barba, Julia Varley und anderen Mitgliederen des Odin Teatret studiert und an Trainings und Forschungsworkshops bei Theater- und Tanzspezialisten teilgenommen: Thomas Richards und Mario Biagini (Workcenter von Jerzy Grotowski und Thomas Richards); Bonnie Bainbridge Cohen, Mark Taylor und Adriana Almeida (BMC – Body-Mind Centering); Tadashi Endo (Butoh Centrum MAMU); Neide Neves (Klauss Vianna); Carlos Simioni (Lume); und LAPCA-UNESP. Thaís hat an verschiedenen Magdalena Festivals teilgenommen, darunter The Magdalena Project @ 25 in Wales, Transit VI and VII (Odin Teatret, Dänemark), Vértice Brasil (Brasilien); und Multicidade (Brasilien).

Ihre Arbeit im Bereich der bildenden Kunst hat sie in zahlreichen Einzel- und Gruppenausstellungen in Brasilien und im Ausland präsentiert. Sie ist nationalen und internationalen Preisen ausgezeichnet worden, Werke von ihr sind in mehreren privaten Sammlungen sowie im Kunstmuseum des Parlaments von São Paulo zu sehen.

Thaís wird während der gesamten Magdalena Saison (Februar-April 2008) in der Villa Waldberta zu Gast sein. Während dieser Zeit wird sie einen Workshop für ortsansässige Teilnehmer leiten, die anschließend an der Performance “Tapete Manifesto” teilnehmen werden, in der das Problem der Gewalt gegen Frauen thematisiert werden soll. Thaís wird außerdem ihre Solo-Performance “Triptico: Ossos, Batom Vermelho e Hamlet” aufführen und an einer Podiumsdiskussion zu Performance und feministischem Aktivismus teilnehmen.

Thaís Medeiros is an actress, director, dramaturge, visual artist and producer. A graduate of the Teatro Escola Macunaíma, she has been researching the actor’s work for 27 years and has developed her own methodology based on corporal awareness. She is a Kung Fu athlete since 2005, currently an advanced brown belt graduation in Choy Lay Fut style at Shaolin Kung Fu Institute with Master Marco Serra.

Thaís’ artistic research extends to experiments from visual arts to dramaturgy. She has conceived, directed, acted, led workshops and undertaken the dramaturgy of many plays and performances since 1991. She has studied theatrical anthropology with Eugenio Barba and Julia Varley and other members of Odin Teatret. She has participated in trainings and research workshops with theater and dance professionals including Thomas Richards and Mario Biagini (Workcenter of Jerzy Grotowski and Thomas Richards); Bonnie Bainbridge Cohen, Mark Taylor and Adriana Almeida (BMC – Body-Mind Centering); Tadashi Endo (Butoh Centrum MAMU); Neide Neves (Klauss Vianna); Carlos Simioni (Lume); and LAPCA-UNESP. Thaís has participated in Magdalena festivals including The Magdalena Project @ 25 (Wales); Transit VI and VII (Odin Teatret, Denmark), Vértice Brasil (Brazil); and Multicidade (Brazil).

In her visual art practice, Thaís has participated in several individual and collective exhibitions in Brazil and abroad. She has received national and international awards in the field of visual arts and has works in several private collections and in the Museum of Art of the Parliament of São Paulo.

Thaís will be a guest at the Villa Waldberta throughout the Magdalena Saison (February-April 2018). During this time she will lead a workshop for local participants who will take part in the performance Tapete Manifesto, addresssing the issue of violence against women. Thaís will also present her solo performance Triptico: Ossos, Batom Vermelho e Hamlet and take part in a panel discussion about performance and feminist activism.
