Gilla Cremer ist Schauspielerin, Autorin mehrerer Theatermonologe und Produzentin ihrer TheaterUnikate.

Aus- und Fortbildung u.a. mit Eugenio Barba/Odin Teatret an der ISTA, Internationalen Schule für Theateranthropologie; Ingemar Lind – Institut for Scenekonst; I Made Pasek Tempo, I Made Djimat; Günther Einbrodt (ehem. Tabori Gruppe); Augusto Fernandez; Werner Schotter.

Seit 1987 arbeitet Gilla Cremer hauptsächlich als Solistin und geht mit ihren Theater Unikaten im In- und Ausland erfolgreich auf Tournee. Ihre langjährige Zusammenarbeit mit dem Magdalena Project führte zu Gastspielen in Dänemark, Polen, Ungarn, Neuseeland, Taiwan und Indien.

In ihren Theater Unikaten entfaltet sie ein beeindruckendes Spektrum unterschiedlicher und höchst aktueller Themen wie Migration, Rassismus, Kinderarmut und Mobbing. Sie hat mehrere Romane für die Bühne adaptiert und war für einige Stücke selbst als Autorin verantwortlich: Die Hexe von Buchenwald – ein Abend über die Nazi-Täterin Ilse Koch, Morrison Hotel über die Rebellion der 68er, Größenwahnsinn und Schizophrenie, <i”>Die Dinge meiner Eltern über die Auflösung des Elternhauses und ihre jüngste Produktion #Freundschaft. 

Gilla lebt in Hamburg und bringt dort ihre Uraufführungen heraus, u.a. am Thalia Theater, auf Kampnagel und in den Hamburger Kammerspielen. Für ihre langjährige und außergewöhnliche Leistungen im Rahmen des Hamburger Theaterlebens erhielt sie den Rolf-Mares-Sonderpreis und außerdem den Inthega-Sonderpreis für ihr beeindruckendes Gesamtwerk. Derzeit hat sie 12 Produktionen im Repertoire.

Gilla Cremer is an actress, author of theatre monologues and producer for her company Theater Unikate.

Gilla has trained with Eugenio Barba (Odin Teatret) at the International School of Theatre Anthropology (ISTA); Ingemar Lind – Institut for Scenekonst; I Made Pasek Tempo; Günther Einbrodt (formerly Tabori Gruppe); Augusto Fernandez; and Werner Schroeter.

Since 1987, Gilla has worked mainly as a soloist. Almost all her productions are performed in both German and English. Her long-lasting cooperation with the Magdalena Project has led to guest-performances in Denmark, Poland, Hungary, New Zealand, Taiwan and India.

Gilla’s monologues encompass an impressive range of diverse contemporary topics such as migration, racism, child poverty and bullying in the workplace. She  has adapted several novels for the stage and is herself the author of monologues including The Bitch of Buchenwald, a play about the Nazi perpetrator Ilse Koch; Morrison Hotel on the subject of the 1968 revolt, megalomania and schizophrenia; My Parents Things and #Friendship.

Gilla lives in Hamburg where she presents her shows at Thalia Theater, Kampnagel and Hamburger Kammerspiele. She received the Rolf-Mares-Sonderpreis for lasting and exceptional achievements in Hamburg’s theatre industry, and the Inthega-Sonderpreis award for her impressive oevre. Her repertoire currently includes 12 theatre productions.
